I love making videos. Usually can only make them when I’m in a good mood and I love girls and I am interested in real love :D yay

Questions

Q: When did you start making videos?
A: June 18, 2008, 12:03 AM

Q: How old were you when you started making your videos?
A: 15

Q: How do you make your videos? Any tips to others? Software you use?
A: Recently I have been listing ideas I have throughout the day so I don’t forget them and so I have something to talk about in my videos or if I am making a skit involving multiple characters that I play, I pre-write a script before I film.  I would advise being yourself, being funny, have good video quality, learning to edit well (look up video tutorials on editing techniques) I figured out Sony Vegas Professional 9 mostly on my own because of previous skill I had learned from using the widows XP default video editor, Windows Movie Maker.

Q: Why did you make your videos? Any influences?
A: I actually loved making cartoons and I don’t really remember how I got started with those.  But I first started getting into filming myself in front of the camera when I went to Milo Academy boarding school  where they didn’t allow any Internet, TV, video games, or anything I wanted to do. On weekends they never had anything good to do, So me and my friends, out of boredom, used my webcam to film ourselves acting silly.  To try to make the video more interesting and funny, I used a similar technique of Fred on YouTube to make our voices more high-pitched.  Once I got sick of Milo, I moved back home and continued making videos and continued to really enjoy it.  In time, I began to really get into YouTube and watching and learning about how to be funny and how to edit well to keep an audiences attention.

Q: How long did it take you to become “famous” or get a lot of views/subscribers?
A: I have been waiting for 2 years to get discovered and within the last month, my fame has been influenced by the mention of myself in one of Shane Dawson’s videos entitled “BOOBS ON MY HEAD?! – A VIDEO ABOUT PRESSURE”.  In addition he appeared at the end of my latest video at the time “TOO MANY UPDATES” which also got me more popular on YouTube.

Q: What is the best thing about being a “Popular YouTuber”?
A: I honestly don’t consider myself that big quite yet.  I plan on going much farther, but the best thing would have to be the amazing amount of people’s lives that I can make better with my videos.  I get feedback every day about how I make their crappy day better.

Q: What is the worst thing about being a “Popular YouTuber”?
A: Spam

Q: If you could only subscribe to one person on YouTube, who would it be?
A: That’s a tough one…probably Onision.  My other favorite YouTubers appear on the homepage all the time so it wouldn’t be a problem keeping up with them.

Q: Do the people you see often (eg: Friends, Family, Citizens of your town…) know that you’re on YouTube/YouTube famous?
A: Some, most don’t.  People here don’t go on YouTube often enough haha.

Q: What is the best thing that has happened since being on YouTube?
A: I got to partake in a collaboration video with my favorite YouTubers ever!

Q: Do you have any advice/tips for fans/people that look up to you?
A: I personally try to think things through and do my best to bring satisfaction to myself and others for the future and present.  It’s really hard but all that thinking goes to good use in the eventually.

Q: Do you read ALL your comments/messages?
A: YES.  However, I am a teenager and I have a life so I don’t respond to comments usually and rarely YouTube messages.  If someone is interested in doing a collab be sure to consider the fact collabs are partnerships and if you don’t keep up the pace with me, then It would be me advertising you and that’s no fun for anyone.  Not even the person I’m advertising because if you’re not funny, you will get hate and regret asking most likely.

Q: If you have a number/letter in your username, what does it stand for?
A: Comic in my old comic book character I use to draw as a child.  Fire is my favorite element and 7 is my favorite number.

Q: Do you have a girlfriend or is it personal?
A: Not as I’m typing these answers but I am usually with someone.

Q: What do you look for in girls?
A: Love

Q: What is your favorite thing to do when you’re bored?
A: Make videos and play the piano and hang with real friends.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do with your friends?
A: Make videos, go to the movies, play ping-pong.

Q: What do you see yourself doing in 10-15 years?
A: I want to be a movie trailer producer.  That would be SWEET!

Q: What hair product do you use?
A: Different all the time but I usually use Pantine and Axe and Old Spice in the shower.

Q: Where do you live?
A: Grants Pass, OR

Q: Anything else you want to tell us?
A: I love you :D

Questions

Q: When did you start making videos?
A: In the Summer of 2007

Q: How old were you when you started making your videos?
A: I had just turned 17.

Q: How do you make your videos?  Any tips to others?  Software you use?
A: I film with a “Canon Vixia” and edit in “Final Cut Express”. My advice to people just starting out is: Quality over quantity, audio over video, and always be true to yourself– if you’re talking about something you’re passionate about your passion will show.

Q: Why did you make your videos?  Any influences?
A: I started making videos because I was bored and had a camera! I’d seen a few things on YouTube before but hadn’t started watching anyone particularly regularly.

Q: How long did it take you to become “famous” or get a lot of views/subscribers?
A: I would contend that I’m still not “famous” in the traditional sense of the word, but I started gaining subscribers as soon as I started posting videos. Growth on YouTube happens exponentially so I started out gaining somewhere in the neighborhood of ten subscribers a day where now I gain somewhere in the neighborhood of seven hundred subscribers a day. Determining, however, when I went from not being popular to being popular is a bit of a challenging task. A safe bet might be when I won the 2007 YouTube award for “Best Instructional Video”.

Q: What is the best thing about being a “Popular YouTuber”?
A: Knowing that a huge community of people cares about what I have to say There’s no better feeling in the world.

Q: What is the worst thing about being a “Popular YouTuber”?
A: This is a really hard question to answer– I love just about everything about being a “Popular YouTuber”. I suppose if I had to choose something I’d say how busy I’ve become, but even that’s not really a bad thing. If you’re doing what you love you never work a day in your life.

Q: If you could only subscribe to one person on YouTube, who would it be?
A: Wheezywaiter.

Q: Do the people you see often (eg: Friends, Family, Citizens of your town…) know that you’re on YouTube/YouTube famous?
A: Yes. Definitely.

Q: What is the best thing that has happened since being on YouTube?
A: The community that has grown and continues to grow around my videos, commonly known as the “PogoTribe”. The PogoTribe lives at http://pogotribe.proboards.com/

Q: Do you have any advice/tips for fans/people that look up to you?
A: Don’t be afraid to fail. Fear of failure gets in the way of so much potential awesome in the world.

Q: Do you read ALL your comments/messages? (Answer Truthfully)
A: Haha, no. I try but there’s literally not enough time in the day. The best ways to get in touch with me are through Twitter and my live shows.

Q: If you have a number/letter in your username, what does it stand for?
A: “Pogobat” is a portmanteau of “Pogo Sticking” (a hobby of mine when I made the username) and “The Aquabats” (my favorite band when I made the username).

Q: Do you have a girlfriend or is it personal?
A: I have a girlfriend. Her name is Danielle.

Q: What do you look for in girls?
A: Someone who is smart, funny, cute, motivated to succeed, and can keep me down to Earth.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do when you’re bored?
A: Play Rock Band. I’m a beast on Expert Guitar (If I do say so myself :p)

Q: What is your favorite thing to do with your friends?
A: I love just sitting around, talking. Board games are also pretty rad– RISK, Monopoly and Scrabble are my favorites. Did you know Scrabble was invented by a guy named “Butts”. That’s pretty neat.

Q: What do you see yourself doing in 10-15 years?
A: I have no friggin’ idea. The world is changing so quickly that it’s hard to know what things will look like even just ONE year from now. If I had to guess I’d say living on Mars.

Just living life in a positive way.  I believe life’s too short to live bad feelings, life goes on.

Questions

Q: When did you start making videos?
A: August 2006

Q: How old were you when you started making your videos?
A: Just turned 13.

Q: How do you make your videos?  Any tips to others?  Software you use?
A: Canon Vixia HG20 & Final Cut Express.  Put as much work into my videos as possible until I’m happy with it.  Even one little unnoticeable change that may take an hour to edit is worth it.

Q: Why did you make your videos?  Any influences?
A: SMOSH!  I loved their videos and wanted to be like them.

Q: How long did it take you to become “famous” or get a lot of views/subscribers?
A: It took me a year and a half to get 100 subscribers.  The next 2 years after that I now have 21,000.

Q: What is the best thing about being a “Popular YouTuber”?
A: Having the love and support of the viewers that got me to where I am now.  I’d be nothing or anywhere without them.

Q: What is the worst thing about being a “Popular YouTuber”?
A: Reputation.  I don’t like when people judge me before they know me by hearing bad things from rumors or truths.

Q: If you could only subscribe to one person on YouTube, who would it be?
A: Dan Brown. (Pogobat)

Q: Do the people you see often (eg: Friends, Family, Citizens of your town…) know that you’re on YouTube/YouTube famous?
A: Most of the people I know do know this, yes.  I used to be very shy about my videos, and never tell anyone.  I still never tell anyone, people just find out, and the difference now is that I’m completely fine with them knowing, I’m not as self conscious after making them for over 3 and a half years.

Q: What is the best thing that has happened since being on YouTube?
A: The traveling and the people.  The people are people I would of never dreamed of thinking of, amazing people, and traveling is my most favorite thing and I’ve done so many things just because of Youtube.

Q: Do you have any advice/tips for fans/people that look up to you?
A: Don’t focus on the numbers, focus on the fun.  For SO long I just wanted to be famous like Smosh.  I started forgetting the numbers, and the more fun I had making videos, the better quality they would be, and more people liked them, and now I’m where I am.

Q: Do you read ALL your comments/messages? (Answer Truthfully)
A: I read all my emails, @ replies on twitter, and video comments each week.  Everything else (ex: myspace messages, YouTube messages) I only read a few.

Q: If you have a number/letter in your username, what does it stand for?
A: I don’t have one, but if I WERE to pick one, I would probably pick 81, because I’m a huge Lakers fan, and huge Kobe Bryant fan.  Kobe Bryant hit 81 points in a game a few years ago.  It represents achievement in doing what I love.

Q: Do you have a girlfriend or is it personal?
A: I don’t have a girlfriend right NOW, there may be somebody I’m into, but other than that, I’m single.  I’m not really one for relationships right now.

Q: What do you look for in girls?
A: Well personality is the biggest, and they have to be somewhat attractive to be honest, I can’t like someone that way if they aren’t attractive at all, but that’s pretty lenient.  They should probably be somewhat smart too.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do when you’re bored?
A: YouTube LOL, and play some basketball, go on skype with some friends.  Go out with friends.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do with your friends?
A: Probably go to the beach, or go to a city.  Something adventurous that I don’t get to do very often.

Q: What do you see yourself doing in 10-15 years?
A: Something in Film, MAYBE YouTube?  I love YouTube and it would be amazing if it still existed at that point.

Q: How long did it take you to become “famous” or get a lot of views/subscribers?
A: It feels weird to think of myself as “famous”, but to get where I am now has taken about 2 years. My fan base starting going up gradually, now, it’s shooting up. It feels great.

Nathan Ryan Interview (Jan 3, 2010)

funnyz iconHey whats up? My name is Nate. The videos all started when my friends and I were messing around and put a video up and it had a couple thousand views and had people wanting us to make more so we did and now its bigger than what i would have ever expected. I was accepted to the New York Conservatory School of Acting for Film and Television which is HUGE because they only accept 180 people in the country per year! I planned on going there but auditioned for a feature film being filmed in Denver and i got a small role! We start filming the movie in February 2009 and i can’t wait! After the Movie is done being filmed I will go to the New York Conservatory for the summer and then depending on how that goes I plan on moving to LA after the summer. Acting just took off for me as I have only been doing it for about a year and a half now. I’m thinking its a sign that i should stick to it.

Q: When did you start making videos?
A: December 2007

Q: How old were you when you started making your videos?
A: 18

Q: Why did you make your videos?
A: Had to promote myself somehow and living in colorado springs its really hard to do so started making videos to put on the internet.

Q: How long did it take you to become “famous” or get a lot of views/subscribers?
A: It took about 6 months before i started thinking “wow this is getting bigger than i thought!” people would be excited if i wrote them back or talked to them online. it was really cool to have so many people supporting what i was doing.

Q: What is the best thing about being a “popular youtuber”?
A: The best thing about it is when someone is having a bad day or rough time they go to my videos and watch them and they feel a lot better. they laugh again and are happy. nothing makes me happier than someone saying they had a bad day and turned on my videos and felt better. best feeling in the world.

Q: What is the worst thing about being a “popular youtuber”?
A: I am never free in my “home life” i am always busy putting out videos for the world to watch and can’t always make time for my friends here in my home town. but most of them understand. and thats why i have some of my friends in my videos so we are hanging out and still getting videos out there on my channel.

Q: If you could only subscribe to one person on youtube, who would it be?
A: i would have to say mitchell davis. he is naturally funny. he doesnt have to “act” funny which is a very good skill to have.

Q: Do the people you see often (eg: Friends, Family, Citizens of your town…) know that your on youtube/youtube famous?
A: Yeah i work a part time job and people come in there and say “hey i loved your new video!” or when i go to parties around my home town people know me as the youtube dude. It gets pretty crazy but I love it.

Q: What is the best thing that has happened since being on YouTube?
A: I have been able to laugh more at myself. a long time ago i cared to much of what other people thought of me which made me someone who i didnt want to be. It was the worst thing ever. but with being on youtube i see people like me the way i am and not who i would try to be to fit in. my channel and videos show who i really am and how i am here to make people laugh. and i have more friends/fans this way which is a great thing.

Q: What is the worst thing that has happened since being on YouTube?
A: The worst thing that has happened is everyone looks at my videos and sees the fun/comedic/crazy side of me. it is really hard to get someone to take me seriously. i try to have a serious conversation with someone and they just can’t deal with it. its tough.

Q: If you have a number in your username, what does it stand for?
A: I do! the number is 719 which is the area code of my home town colorado springs. I have lived here my entire life and i love this place to death.

Q: Do you have a girlfriend or is it personal?
A: I did have a girlfriend for about 5 years and things didnt work out. I guess i am not really over it still. so currently i do not have a girlfriend. but we shall see what the future brings.

Q: What do you look for in a girls?
A: I like a girl who is cute and can be herself without trying to impress other people. i like the girl you can just hangout and watch a movie with. just my other half i guess. she is out there somewhere. just gotta keep my eyes open.

Q: What is your favorite type of music?
A: I like rap and hip hop but i also like a bunch of different bands. music has a lot to do with my acting. i use music to put me in different moods to get into character. is it weren’t for music i do not think i would have any videos on youtube or be the person that i am today.

Q: What are your favorite books(book)?
A: I will read anything. i wont lie i did read the twilight series lol. i thought it was really good. i like books that take you away from the normal. its a good feeling.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do when your bored?
A: I like to go on ustream and keep in touch with all my fans. i try my best to keep in touch with all of them because if it weren’t for them i wouldnt even be as big as i am today. i am very thankful for all of them!

Q: Favorite drink?
A: Dr. Pepper

Q: Favorite place to eat?
A: Chipotle

Q: Last but not least, will you tell your friends, family, fans, others about this interview?

Funnyz Interview (Dec 27, 2009)

funnyz iconComedy, skating, music, and eating babies.

Q: When did you start making videos?
A: My first video was uploaded on May 28th, 2006. It was the day after my birthday, and my parents had gotten me a Flip Video.

Q: How old were you when you started making your videos?
A: I had just turned 12.

Q: Why did you make your videos? Any influences?
A: Well, my dad was the one who introduced me to Youtube, and I thank him for that! As far as later videos (my old ones really sucked, like most people’s first videos), my inspirations were/are livelavalive, KassemG, wastetimechasingcars, supermac18, and grocerybagdottv, among LOTS of others. And I’ve always had a sort of rivalry with smosh :)

Q: How long did it take you to become “famous” or get a lot of views/subscribers?
A: A LONG FREAKING TIME. Haha just kidding, but it’s kind of true. Besides being on MyCollab about a week before writing this (that got me hundreds of subscribers), my semi-popularity was a slow climb. It was literally a gradual increase over three or four years.

Q: What is the best thing about being a “popular youtuber”?
A: Cliche answer: The good comments, “fan” mail, and being part of a community. Blunt answer: Getting money from making videos (but the three things above are true too, I swear!)

Q: What is the worst thing about being a “popular youtuber”?
A: Feeling bad when I don’t make a video for more than a week. It’s especially hard when you have your main account, a drumming account, a side account, and a collab channel.

Q: If you could only subscribe to one person on youtube, who would it be?
A: Ahh that’s a really hard question. Livelavalive, I guess…he’s my main inspiration. But I’ll admit, his videos aren’t that funny to me, they’re just really cool and inspirational.

Q: Do the people you see often (eg: Friends, Family, Citizens of your town..) know that your on youtube/youtube famous?
A: They wouldn’t call it famous (neither would I, really), but most of them know about my Youtube. I’ve kind of stopped telling so many people, because sometimes it’s embarrassing when they bring up one of my videos in real life. Good thing they don’t know about my Twitter (haha)

Q: What is the best thing that has happened since being on YouTube?
A: Becoming a Youtube Partner, definitely. Not only can I make $$ to get better camera stuff, but it has allowed me to become more active in the Youtube community. I don’t know how it did that, but it sure did. Also, it’s a great motivation to make good videos.

Q: What is the worst thing that has happened since being on YouTube?
A: My JVC Everio’s hard drive crashed one time, and I lost a year’s worth of videos. Back then I thought they would have turned out okay, but now I realize they probably sucked. Also, my little bro passed me in subscriber count, but don’t worry, I’ll catch up haha.

Also, making quality videos, and then being ignored view-wise. AND YOUTUBE TOOK DOWN THE FEATURE BOX! The Editors at Youtube used to hand-pick rising new videos daily, and they would basically make undiscovered people famous. Now stars like ShaneDawson and Charlestrippy are pretty much all you see on the front page.

Q: If you have a number in your username, what does it stand for?
A: I don’t. But I have a letter, “z,” which stands for Zach.

Q: Do you have a boyfriend/girlfriend or is it personal?
A: Yeah, that’s definitely personal. Although the two aren’t mutually exclusive.

Q: What do you look for in a girls/boys?
A: Sense of humor, and being chill.

Q: What is your favorite type of music?
A: Indie pop. Of Montreal, Belle and Sebastian, Matt & Kim, MGMT, The Fratellis, and The Postal Service. Also, Ratatat, The Spinto Band, The Thermals, Neutral Milk Hotel, and PK. PK is incredibly awesome because they let me use their music in my videos!

Q: What are your favorite books(book)?
A: *looks at Facebook page* Freakonomics, that’s all

Q: What is your favorite thing to do when your bored?
A: Make a video, edit a video, drum, eat, and reply to super old comments on my videos and surprise them.

Q: Do you read ALL your comments/messages?
A: Yes, I just don’t reply to them all.
